For the uninitiated computer/blog user
(windows only):

The best way to read the blog is to right-click
the "Comments" link and then select "Open in
new window"
This will allow you more control with your mouse.
Each "Topic" is also called a thread.

Once you are signed up with DFA you can post on the blog by 'signing' in with your email address (addy) and password.
You can change your 'username' by clicking on Name 'Change' and then 'post'.
When selecting a 'username' make sure it has no spaces in your name e.g. "fred is funny" should be "fred*is^funny"

You can insert your email address if you like to share it by typing it into the "email box"
or
you could share a website easily by typing (or pasting) the web address into the "URL optional" box.

To post:
Scroll to the bottom of the blog (thread) page and you'll find "Click here to comment on this post."
Sign in and if everything goes well, bingo, you become world famous!

Need to get the latest postings after finishing reading the thread?
Right-click and select "Refresh" this will bring the blog page up to the latest postings
or
Refresh = F5 (meaning you press the F5 key)

Looking to find names or previous postings?
Click on "Edit" on the top of your browser window
and select "Find on this page"
or
press Ctrl + F

Want to copy a posting and use it in your own post?
Highlight the text you want to copy, put cursor over highlighted text, right-click, select "Copy", insert
cursor where you want to paste, right-click, select "Paste"
or
highlight text, press Ctrl + C (copy command), Ctrl + V pastes highlighted text

Want to insert special characters like
Å, æ or à ?
Go to "Start", "Programs", "Accessories", "System Tools", "Character Map"
Select/click the character you want, click "select, click "copy".
Now you can "paste" the character into your post

Don't have Character Map?

Character Map is probably not installed.

To install:

Start> Settings> Control Panel> Add and Remove programs> Windows Setup> select (In 'Components') System Tools and then click on 'Details' and put a check mark next to Character Map then click OK and Ok again.
